Who we are

Everyone belongs in the genuinely inclusive communities of genU, no matter their stage of life.

Connection and community are important for living a full and healthy life. While our needs for both may change over time, at certain points, we may need extra support to continue enjoying our independence and embracing opportunities.

At genU, we believe that access and inclusion should be non-negotiables in every community, and we have crafted our range of services so that, no matter your generation, we can be the support you need.

Our story began more than 70 years ago, providing support for people with disability in Victoria. The world has changed a lot since then and so have we, adding a range of support services for all stages of life and in locations all around the nation.

You'll find us on the ground delivering supports including allied health, accommodation, disability support, senior services, training, and employment.

Who we support

From our younger community members, as they experience things for the first time, through to our seniors who are full of stories and wisdom.

No matter what generation you fit into, we can offer that extra support for you to live your most genuine life.

Our people

genU is powered by more than 6,000 amazing employees across Australia.

From our Executive and Board to our employees on the ground, it’s safe to say genU is in good hands.

Our story

Our story started in 1952 in Geelong, Victoria, when a group of parents wanted more for their children with disability.

Today, we have a national presence as one of Australia’s largest care providers.

Our values

Our vision: Genuinely inclusive communities.

Our purpose: Enriching lives through connections, supports and opportunities.

Our values: Everything we do and our daily interactions are guided by our values, which we refer to as the WISER model: Welcoming - Innovative - Safe - Empowered - Respectful.

Profit-for-purpose

As a profit-for-purpose organisation, we reinvest back into initiatives that build more inclusive communities.

This means that every interaction you have with genU, whether it’s accessing our services, grabbing a coffee, attending a community event, buying a fundraising lottery ticket, volunteering or undertaking training - you’re directly impacting the lives of others.

The genU community

Did you know that genU is a parent company to a bunch of really cool organisations?

Each one of them may have a different offering but they are all driven by the same goal - to build inclusive communities for all across all generations.
