Fundraising Golf Day

Since 2018, genU has run an annual fundraising golf day in partnership with Barwon Heads Golf Club, Golf Australia and the Transport Accident Commission.

Initial fundraising raised funds to purchase a piece of equipment called the ParaGolfer, to be made available within the Geelong community.  This piece of equipment is an all-terrain wheelchair that raises the golfer into a standing position, to allow a more conventional golf swing. The ParaGolfer is used by people with a high-level spinal cord injuries, helping them to reconnect with the game they love.

We raised close to $200,000 in the first three years which enabled us to purchase two ParaGolfer machines and a trailer to transport them between courses.

Since then we have supported golfers to participate in the Australia Wheelchair Championship and genU clients to participate in the 2023 Great Victorian Bike Ride.

Golfers will hit the Barwon Heads course on Friday 14 November, 2025.
